About the event

Bazurka is a dynamic seven (sometimes eight) piece band based in Wellington, New Zealand, bringing together an electrifying blend of vocals, trumpet, saxophone, double bass, guitar, percussion, and violin. Specializing in traditional folk songs from the rich tapestry of the Balkans, as well as captivating Greek folk music, Bazurka delivers an exhilarating musical experience that transports audiences to vibrant cultural landscapes.

Having last performed in Te Waipounamu in 2023, they are returning again to bring their music to the people of Mohua, Whakatū, and Ōtautahi. Join us for an evening of joy and sorrow, light and darkness, that will have you dancing all night long.

Renowned for their infectious energy and spirited performances, Bazurka captivates audiences with their intricate musical abilities and heartfelt storytelling. Each show is a celebration of community, culture, and the joy of music, making Bazurka a must-see for anyone eager to experience the pulse of Balkan…
