About the event

This monumental musical event features four powerful new compositions by Briar Prastiti for massed choirs—uniting over 500 singers—with electronic backing, live solo vocals, and taonga pūoro. Inspired by the essence of Wellington City Library, the works unfold as both blessing and ritual, marking the long-awaited reopening of the library since being closed for reconstruction. Performed within the library itself and projected out into the surrounding streets, the music transforms the building into a living instrument, inviting the city to gather, listen, and take part in this collective moment of renewal.
